The purity and depth of Vimala’s voice evoke her cultural heritage, a soulful voice wrapped in sophisticated modern grooves. From her home in England she has travelled extensively, using her experiences to shape her musical style. Her influences are diverse, including Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Weller, Julie London and Indian classical music.
The songs from her EP Vimala were inspired from an inner groove and peace that she tapped into during her journeys throughout Thailand, Australia and India.
Previous releases have seen Vimala performing and working with renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel and Carl James, previously bass player for James Brown. Vimala has enjoyed chart success in Asia, with two top three singles in Thailand.
Above all Vimala loves to perform live, and is renowned for creating that special connection with the audience.
